Calo Footwear - Hand Crafted in Napoli
Mr. Giuseppe Calò was only 19 years old when he started crafting shoes for prestigious Italian brands. He started making shoes in his own home, using just a needle and waxed thread. His passion for the world of men's footwear kept growing, and only after a few years he was able to open a small workshop within his parents' home in Irpiniam, in the province of Avellino.
Since the early years, Giuseppe Calò's shoe factory became known for its specialization in the production of moccasins, crafted through tubular processing. With this method, the upper wraps around the foot from below, replacing the insole and forming a “leather tube”. The top part is then finished with the so-called leather mascherina, which is strictly hand-sewn. The result is a shoe that guarantees maximum comfort with an extremely soft and flexible shape.
After thirty years of experience making footwear for luxury brands, Giuseppe, supported by his son Marco, decided to launch his own brand. Brought up with Giuseppe’s passion and strengths for the factory and the family enterprise since his early childhood. Marco knew that his personal mission was to reinvent the company in a contemporary key a product like the moccasin, with its timeless elegance and class. He achieved this goal through the skilful use of colours and accessories.
